Is it Necessary for Health Practitioner Learn Computer Science? | Perlukah Tenaga Kesehatan Belajar Ilmu Komputer?

source1

Hai!

Perlukah tenaga kesehatan mempelajari ilmu komputer?

Jadi..kesimpulannya, apakah perlu tenaga kesehatan mempelajari ilmu komputer?

Menurut teman-teman?

Hi! How long has it been since I say “Hi” to this blog? I know it’s still under maintenance, but, I will try to up raise a topic that may not yet booming in society.

Is it necessary for healthcare practitioner to learn computer science?

As we know friends, the development of digital health technology is not a trend anymore, but transformed into a necessity. The simplest thing that we usually do (actually.. I did that, hhe) is searching health information through Google.

There is plenty of innovation that created with combining health and computer science. There are several website that provide health information, directly sourced from specialized physicians (HaloDoc, Alodokter), a health travel where we can find the nearest clinics (DocDoc), taking medicine that listed in our prescription through website (ApotikAntar), and several health apps for therapy supporter, where one of them claimed like achieving level in Warcraft (Fitocracy), that already flooded this age. Almost all of the founders comes from IT nor business background. But, there also several digital platform that founded by healthcare practitioner like GHDOnline, an online forum discussion that founded by physician to discuss all-topic that related to global health, Tuple Health, a financial analysis service that specifically served for population health, that also founded by physician, and MedicalFuturis, a blog that covers topic about the development of world in digital health and its innovation, that founded by a physician who hold a Ph.D in genomic, and a geek.

So, are they, all of them, learning about computer science? The answer is yes. Technology and this fast moving age, has already made this innovators learn “something” different than their previous background. They have done this because the challenges that related to health problem keep increasing its number and variation. One of them is the maternal and child mortality. There’s a lot of action that has been done to press off this number , but it seems, there’s still gap between data and reality . To handle the similar case in Bangladesh, India, and South Africa, an innovation to push out these numbers, has been done by developing a mobile platform that can prevent the increased number, by educating and giving tips to society about child, maternal, and newborn information. MAMA.

But, isn’t it so troublesome to learn different major from our background? Moreover, why we should not focus on our previous major? Indeed. And of course, taking different degree from previous undergraduate, something that easily questionable. This trend may not been prioritized yet in developing country, but actually, there’s a lot of people who already pursue this challenge to solve problems that related to their responsibility, include from Indonesia.

To conclude, is it necessary for health practitioner to learn computer science? In my opinion, for one of revolution in healthcare, yes, it is necessary.

What about you, friends?

Still Under-maintenance | Masih dalam perbaikan

Halo,

Gambar diatas adalah salah satu screenshot ketika saya mengikuti acara dari WHO (World Health Organization) terkait The Five Keys to Safer Food Programme dari warnet sebelah kontrakan teman saya.

Salam,

Yudha
